IRO Timber
IRO Timber can be found at the Grand House at this year's Grand Designs Live London. IRO is created using the traditional method of Japanese wood preservation – Yakisugi – where the wood is charred to give a beautiful and tactile finish. IRO is a 100% natural timber that can be used in innovative, imaginative ways to breathe new life into external spaces.
By combining one of the oldest, most versatile building materials with progressive design techniques, IRO is a revolutionary product that transforms any outdoor space.
Inspired by Yakisugi, the process of charring the timber, IRO – which is Japanese for ‘colour’ is crafted using an intricate seven-step process that uses the most innovative timber technology. And is available in a range of 3 naturally charming colours to complement every environment.
Each stage contributes to our products’ texture, durability, and appearance. The result is a versatile product that blends seamlessly into any environment, whether it’s the countryside or city.
IRO is UV-stable, low-maintenance, long-lasting, and HVOC-free, meaning the product is both child-friendly and pet-friendly.
IRO is heat enhanced and coated in a wood cream. This makes the product more durable and offers a more striking grain appearance than its traditional cladding and decking counterparts.
Manufactured in Britain using our finely tuned seven-step process, IRO architectural cladding is a unique range that’s designed to enhance all building exteriors – and IRO’s water repellent, self-cleaning surface ensures that any dirt and dust is simply washed away.
Inspired by Yakisugi, the age-old method of enhancing timber with heat, IRO external cladding can make any outdoor space either more modern or more traditional depending on the way it’s used. What’s more is that a wide and exclusive palette means that this coloured cladding always lends itself to the latest trends.
IRO external cladding is high quality yet affordable. Coated in wood cream to enhance the product’s charred profile, IRO cladding boasts a smooth, glossy, and colourful finish that adds beauty and charm to any outdoor space. The coloured wood cream also adds water-repellent properties, meaning that liquids will pearl off the product and help to maintain it.
